Mar. 3, 1931 - Oct. 16, 2016 Kenneth A. Lundberg, 85, of Vestavia Hills passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was born on March 3, 1931 to the late Carl and Bertha (Anderson) Lundberg in New Milford, Connecticut. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria Horton Lundberg, three children, Kathleen Clements, Cynthia (Jim) Bartlett and Mark (Courtney) Lundberg; 10 grandchildren, Marianne Green, Captain Patrick Clements (USAF), Lieutenant Christopher Clements (USAF), Dr. Andrew Bartlett, Kenton Bartlett, Harrison Bartlett, Mark Miller Lundberg, Kenneth Hall Lundberg, Kathryn "Kassey" Lundberg and Lucile "Mallie" Lundberg; and three great-grandchildren. Ken received a degree from Georgia Tech in Materials Engineering and a degree from UAB in Business. He served in the United States Air Force, patented a part for IBM, and worked in manufacturing as a plant manager for Harbison-Walker in Fairfield and in Bessemer. He was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Ken took great pleasure in serving his community in a variety of ways. He served on the boards of many Vestavia organizations, including The Men's Garden Club, The Beautification Board, Historical Society, Friends of the Library, and Senior Citizens. He was a driver for seniors as well as an election official. Ken was a member of the Poinsettia Men's Club and the Medallion Club. He also was involved with the Alabama Exchange Clubs, serving for two years as the Alabama President and holding a position on the board of directors for the Prevention of Child Abuse Center. He was a long-time member of the Fairfield Exchange Club. Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 am in the parlor of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church followed by an 11:00 am service in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, 2300 10th Ct.
