ANDALE-Hermes, Kenneth Bernard 66, born October 10, 1950 to Wilfred and Rita Hermes in Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully with his family present after a courageous battle with cancer on October 16, 2016. He was a lifelong farmer and retired welder of 31 years for Sedgwick County. He is survived by his wife, Jan (Stuever) Hermes; sons, Tony and Daniel of Andale; daughters, Melissa May of Andale and Pamela (Blane) Williams of Centennial, CO. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Linda Hermes; daughter, Carolyn Strumillo of Frisco, TX; and grandchildren, Tate, Lily and Emery May, Ellis Williams and Sebastian Novelo; sisters, Mary Lies and Kathy Zwetzig; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Rita; brother, Alvin; and sister, Jean Schoenecker. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016; Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Andale, KS. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his honor to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, St. Louis or St. Jude's Children Research Hospitals. Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Colwich, KS.
