Kenneth U. Freeman Sept. 14, 1931 - Dec. 15, 2016 Kenneth, a son of Lorin and Delores Freeman was born in Basalt, ID. The boy grew and learned skills of hand from his father. During the period when he was developing the fine personality he had, he completed his education - graduating from Firth H.S. in 1950. He worked around the area for a time, then joined the U.S. Army. Six months in training camp in Hawaii started him for a station in Berlin, Germany with the Elite Honor Guard in 1952. During that tour he met a lovely girl, Bessy Hass, and in 1954 they were married. Returning to the States later in 1954 he was then discharged in New York City. The young couple returned to Idaho and had 3 children: Carolyne Freeman (Antrim), Charlene Freeman and Micheal Freeman (deceased), four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ken joined R.T.P (Monroc) in March of 1958 as a Ready-Mix driver and made concrete his life work. He transferred from Idaho Falls to Boise where he progressed to Supervisor status and went on to get his Architectural Precast Tech with Mo-Sai Institute. He was in charge of forming panels for numerous building in Boise and surrounding areas of Idaho and Washington. He loved his work and made numerous friends during his lifetime. He had a love of the outdoors, spending time with his family, fishing at Island Park and going out to get wood during the fall as that was his favorite time of the year. A graveside service will be at the Basalt Cemetery on the 29th of April, 2017 at 1 p.m.
