Ken E. Gilbert
Ken Eugene Gilbert, 66, High Hill, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at his home. Ken was born March 1, 1950, in Decatur, Ill., the son of Clifford Paul Gilbert and wife Maxine. He had a love for cars and working on them, especially GM vehicles. Ken was an automotive instructor for several years at the GM training center in Kirkwood. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and was a member of Jonesburg Masonic Lodge 457, where he was past master. Ken also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Cecilia Gilbert, nee Puleo, High Hill; one son, Phillip Paul Gilbert, Montgomery City; one brother, Larry Gilbert, Spokane, Wash.; and one sister, Paula Riddle, Hesperia, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Paul Gilbert, and mother, Maxine Gilbert. Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Jonesburg. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment followed at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville. Memorials to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Jonesburg.
