Kelly Sean Malia September 27,1971-October 9,2016 Raleigh Wake County native Kelly Sean Malia, 45, passed away on Sunday October 9th 2016. Beloved Soulmate, Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, Friend and WEPPA Employee, he leaves behind a wake of broken hearts as a result of the countless lives he touched.. Kelly's infectious love for life, family and friends was evident in all that he did and everywhere he went. He was passionate about his work, family, friends, nature, sports, medicine, traveling, and animals but happiest whenever fishing. Kelly never knew a stranger. Always positive, he saw the good in others and beauty in every situation. Kelly embodied all that is good in the world and infected everyone with his love of life. The world is a better place as a result and he will live on in our hearts forever. Kelly is survived by his beloved fiancé Landon Pond, his parents Ann Malia of Sims, NC; John and Brenda Malia of Myrtle Beach, SC.; Kelly's brother John Bruce Malia, wife Kathie, and sons Jacob and JC of Fuquay-Varina, NC.; and his brother Michael Malia and wife Anna of Sims. Kelly is also survived by Landon's parents, Karl and Kathryn, and her grandmothers Betty Pond and Kay Donohoe, her brother Christopher, wife Laura, daughter Keira and son Deacon. Kelly is greatly loved and missed by his aunts and uncles, his cousins, extended family and friends and co-workers Kelly was devoted to family and friends, never missing an opportunity or holiday spent with them. His passion for the outdoors was evident as a youth. He valued his time with friends old and new. His summers and weekends were frequently spent on the family farm with his grandparents Ernest and Edna Parry. His compassion for others was well suited for his career as a Physician Assistant. A great part of Kelly's life was his WEPPA family and the patient care and life-saving work he shared with them. His natural ability to calm and console while healing and caring for others was ever present. Kelly dedicated his career to the emergency room and to providing the best care possible. He was always available for anyone whenever and wherever they needed him for medical advice or assistance. In his honor, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 1 P.M., Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave in Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The NC Wildlife Endowment Fund ASPCA, UNC Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
