Kellie Sue Smith, 48, of Freeport passed away unexpectedly Saturday at her home. Kellie was born Dec. 16, 1967, in Butler, the daughter of Karen L. (Myers) Neyman of Saxonburg and the late Robert Neyman, who died in 2011. Kellie was a 1985 graduate of Freeport Area High School. She then attended Duff's Business Institute, where she received her medical assistant's degree. Kellie had a penchant for baking, a fondness for clothing and jewelry, compassion for animals, and, above all, devotion to her family. She cared for strangers as she did family and possessed an unparalleled generosity. She had a genial, soothing presence and an affable disposition. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Kevin Smith; her son, Jacob Smith of Saxonburg; two sisters, Kim Neyman of Buffalo Township, and her fiancé, Tim Ebig, and Kristi and Jeff Donahue of Saxonburg. Kellie also is survived by many nieces and nephews. SMITH - At the family's request, there will be no public visitation for Kellie Sue Smith, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.
