Kathy Ann Borchers June 13, 1962 - December 28, 2016 Sublimity - With great sadness on December 28, 2016, Kathy Ann (McNeil) Borchers of Sublimity, age 54, lost her fight to cancer at Salem Hospital. We mourn the loss of a beautiful and sweet friend, mother, aunt and sister. Kathy remained thankful and blessed throughout her journey for each and every day. It wasn't unusual for her to stop during chemotherapy and pray for someone else she noticed struggling that day. Kathy was born on June 13, 1962 in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up in Salem. Kathy moved to New York and graduated from Watkins Glen High School. After high school Kathy returned to Salem and worked as a retail store manager. After being home with her children she returned to work at Kettle Foods, later Don Pancho and back to Kettle Foods as a Quality Control Technician. Kathy always had a strong work ethic and tackled any task before her. She enjoyed her friendships and always had a smile on her face. Kathy liked to travel, attend church, and go antique hunting. Kathy treasured spending time with family and friends at the Oregon coast and Bend especially. Kathy is preceded in death by her brother, Michael John McNeil, and her mother, Ursula Erika Fierke. Kathy is survived by her three children, Jessica Borchers, Alicia Borchers and son, Derek Tinkey. Also her three stepchildren, Nicholas Borchers, Stephanie Borchers and Amy Borchers. Her sister, LaVerta Carr and nephews Daniel Miller (Heather), Alex Carr and Lucas Carr. Kathy loved her family and especially her beautiful grandchildren. We would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Salem Hospital, especially the Oncology Floor. Also, Dr. Tiffany's office and staff who were always so kind and thoughtful. As per Kathy's wishes there will not be a service. In Kathy's memory please consider donating to Lung Cancer Research Foundation at www.lungcancerresearchfoundation. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
