Kathryn Runge Reaves Tucson, AZ Kathryn Runge Reaves, 87, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on October 6, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. She was lovingly known as Katy, Kathy, Kathryn, Momma K, and KK. Kathryn was born March 31, 1929, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Louis A. Runge and Jennie Bullard Runge/Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Louis Runge, of La Luz, New Mexico; and her former husband, George Thomas Reaves. Kathryn graduated from Central High School in Jackson, and through the years, remained in contact with many friends there. She attended Millsaps College in Jackson for two years before transferring to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduating from UT in May 1952. For most of her adult life, Kathryn resided in North Carolina, living in Roxboro, Albemarle, Lake Tillery, and Charlotte, caring for her family and many beloved pets. She worked for several years in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, and was later employed with Home Insurance Company. After retiring, she remained in Charlotte, enjoying her children, her church, and her friends, until moving to Tucson in 2004. Kathryn is survived by her four children—Mike Reaves, of Tucson; Jennie Reaves Avery and Glenn, of Charlotte; Susan Reaves, of Tucson; Bill Reaves and Liz, of Tucson; five grandchildren; and her pug, Bear. The family extends a special thanks to the staffs of Casa de la Luz and Right at Home Tucson, for taking such good care of their loved one. Kathryn will be interred next to her mother in Jackson.
