Kathryn Mason, formerly of West Scranton, died Thursday at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. Born and educated in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Rachko Mason. Before her retirement, she worked in customer relations at International Correspondence School. Kathryn lived her life as a devoted orthodox Christian, and was a faithful parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, West Scranton. Over the years, she was a member of the Fellowship of Orthodox Stewards and St. Tikhon's Seminary Century Association. Surviving are two brothers, the Very Rev. John Mason, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and the Very Rev. James Mason and Matushka Patricia, Easton; nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend Kathryn's funeral, which will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Washburn and Fillmore streets, Scranton. Interment will follow in St. Tikhon's Cemetery, South Caanon. Friends may call Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kathryn's church or St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary, St. Tikhon's Road, South Canaan, PA 18459.
