Redpath, Kathleen McVeigh Kathleen E. McVeigh Redpath, 78, entered Eternal Life Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of the late William J. and Alice Donnelly McVeigh, owners and operators of McVeigh Funeral Home in Albany, NY. Kathy was a graduate of The Academy of the Holy Names, Albany, NY. She earned her B.S. degree in retailing in 1960 at the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ where she was active in many student activities. Kathy met her future husband David Redpath, at their common workplace, American Airlines in New York City, and were married on May 12, 1962 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, NY. They lived in New York City until 1968, after which they moved Briarcliff Manor in Westchester County, NY. While raising a family in Westchester she also earned an Associate Degree at Pace College, and obtained her New York State License as a Registered Nurse. Kathy worked as a nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, NY and later at Sky View Nursing Home where she was a Nursing Supervisor, Sarah Neuman Nursing Home where she was the Admissions Nurse, Westchester Care at Home where she was a supervisor and trainer, and Priority Home Care where she was also a supervisor and trainer. Kathleen was a volunteer at Phelps Memorial Hospital where she taught cardiopulmonary resuscitation and helped with the annual Phelps Fair, a significant fundraiser for the hospital. In addition, she enjoyed her time singing with the Old Mill Singers. In 1989 Kathleen and her husband formed Pathway Medical, a company which sold and rented home medical equipment, and provided home oxygen service to customers throughout Westchester County. She was Vice President, Secretary and a Board member of the corporation. In 2005 Kathy and her husband left the medical equipment business and retired to Lake George, NY. While in Westchester she was a communicant and lector at St. Theresa Church , Briarcliff Manor. In Lake George Kathy was a dedicated communicant, Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church, and helped with the parish funeral ministry. She also did volunteer work for North Country Ministry. Kathy was a member of the American Association of University Women. Kathy traveled the world and whenever possible brought her children along so they could see other people and places. She was happy that she could take her parents to the west coast, Hawaii and the Virgin Islands. Kathy was very close to her parents, and had many wonderful family memories. She was the dear wife of 54 years to David Redpath; cherished mother of David M. Redpath and Karen Caravaglia (Jason); beloved grandmother of David Nicholas Redpath, Vincent Redpath, Ryan Caravaglia, Gina Caravaglia and Justin Caravaglia; dear sister of William "Bill" E. McVeigh (Sheila); survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kathy's family Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Reagan, Denny, Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY 12804. All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Sacred Heart Church, Lake George on Friday at 10:00 am. The Rite of Committal will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Immediately following the Mass, all are welcome to a reception at the Parish Center at Sacred Heart Church.
