In memory of
Kathleen L. Ellinger
Kathleen “Kass” L. Ellinger, 82, of Montrose, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Greenfield Senior Living of Perkiomen Valley. She was the beloved wife of the late Ray Ellinger who died in 2014. They shared more than sixty years together. Born in Harleysville, she was the daughter of the late Abel and Idella (Koch) Long. Kass and Ray met, married, and raised their children in Montgomery County. In their retirement, they moved to the Endless Mountains, where family and friends were welcomed to their “84 Acres.” She also loved traveling and square dancing with Ray. Kass was a faithful Phillies fan, and liked spending time with a good book. Watching birds, especially hummingbirds, come to her feeders constantly delighted her. As a homemaker, she took pleasure in baking and gardening, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Except for her brother, Clifford Long of South Carolina, she was predeceased by her six other siblings. She is also survived by four daughters: Deborah Ellinger and her husband Philip Johnson of Niskayuna, NY; Donna Steich and her husband Roy of Telford; Susan Mayewski and her husband David of Aurora, OH; Judy Roberts and her husband Joe of Sellersville; a son, Michael Ellinger and his wife Roxanne (Hunsicker) of Center Valley; as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM in the Franconia Heritage Banquet and Conference Center, 508 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
