Kathleen Nichols Carter Cocoa Beach, FL Kathleen (Katy) Nichols Carter, 97, of Cocoa Beach, Florida passed away Friday, October 7, 2016. Born in Caruthersville, Missouri, Katy moved to Florida in 1962. At age 16, Katy graduated from the Ursaline Academy High School. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education in 1939. Katy taught music at Steele High School, served as a court reporter overseas for eight years for the military, and became an Executive Secretary and Court Reporter for NASA's Chief Legal Counsel. She worked at Kennedy Space Center until her retirement. Kathleen Nichols Carter was preceded in passing by her husband of 67 years, William Alamath Carter and her oldest daughter Hazel Kay Joubran. Survivors include her daughter, Camille Bell, sons-in-law, James Bell and Salim Joubran, granddaughters: Samantha Bell and Julia Anthony, nephews: Jesse Carter, Alamath Carter, nieces: Andria Franklin, Melinda Allison, Mary Carter, Vickie Nealey and Frances Peel. Memorial Services for Mrs. Carter will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Our Saviour's Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
