Karen Hunt-Richenberger July 31, 1941 April 8, 2017 Karen Caruthers was born on July 31, 1941 in Los Angeles, Ca. to James Wallace Caruthers and Beatrice Derrick. The family moved to Modesto where Karen attended school and graduated from Modesto High School in 1959. Karen married her high school sweetheart Ray Gross in 1961 and had son Jack Gross in 1965. After a long and fulfilling career in the escrow industry in Fresno she moved to Reno, Nv. where she met her husband Jim Richenberger and became involved in the antique business. She and Jim were long-time booth owners at Somewhere in Time in downtown Reno. Jim and Karen joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed fellowship with many new friends. Karen was an amazing woman who never seemed to tire. She had a great sense of humor, she told it like it was and she lived each day to the fullest. Karen had tremendous love for her son Jack and she was a caring and devoted mother. Karen is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim. She is survived by her son Jack Gross and his wife Nancy Gross, brother Joe Caruthers, niece Linda Caruthers, nephew Christopher Caruthers, grand-daughter Jordan Yriarte, close friend Terry Wingert and many other dear friends. Karen's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 1:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7625 Shadow Lane, Sparks, Nv. 89434.
