HENSLEY Karen Joy 1951-2017 “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous” - Aristotle Karen passed through nature to eternity to meet her maker and the creator of Heaven and Earth, Tuesday, January 10, 2017. From a young age, Karen was an outdoor enthusiast. She had a tremendous love for nature, her yard and everything that breathes life. An animal lover, Karen nurtured creatures large and small. Her over-the-top compassion for nature and animals was apparent in everything she did. Strangers and friends alike gravitated towards Karen because of her infectious smile and all-embracing personality. She has left an impression on this world that will remain with all of those who had the fortune of knowing her. She leaves only happy memories to her family, brother, Larry (Carol) Hensley; her sister, Earla Newlen; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews; her canine companion, Nikki and many more dear friends will truly miss her. Karen was preceded in death by parents, James M. Hensley Sr., and Thelma Irene; brother, James Jr.; sisters, Betty, Phyllis and Janelle. A visitation for Karen will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 1 - 3:00 p.m. at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio. A brief service will be held following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Those who wish to make donations in her memory to St. Francis Veterinary Hospital at 5544 W.
