June Rosemary Sloan passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Born as June Smith on June 1, 1934, in Norwich, England, her childhood was of war and she was a survivor of the Baedeker Blitz, and many other bombings of her home city. In 1954, she married Harold Joe Sloan, an American airman serving in England to whom she would be married 59 years. For the nearly three decades, June traveled the world as a military wife, including stints in Germany and the Republic of China. In 1980, she and Harold retired to Fort Worth where she lived the remainder of her life. A masterful knitter and serious British soccer fan, June never forgot her English roots, and never lost her British accent. She was well-loved by all who knew her. June was predeceased by her husband, Harold; and her daughter, Debra. Survivors: Sister, Doreen; daughter, Petina; sons, Harold Jr. and Frank; daughters-in-law, Jill and Luci; son-in-law, Michael; grandchildren, Eric, Rex, Rali, Hannah, and Ryan.
