Julie Berry Schneeberger
Schneeberger, Julie Berry (Nee Berry ) Passed on October 17, 2016 at Horizon Lawlis Hospice, a part of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon, Wisconsin. Julie is survived by her husband, Donald G. Schneeberger, daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Gary Wicker and their children Michael and Sarah; and Linda and Greg Shifflett and their children Lauren and Samuel; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and John Garner and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Ellen and Jerry Bambrick and Alyce Jane and Bill Wehrenburg. Julie was born August 9, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Fox Point. She attended University School of Milwaukee and graduated college with a degree in Occupational Therapy from UW-Milwaukee and a master's degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch College. She worked for Curative Rehabilitation Services spending nearly 30 years at Froedtert Hospital as an Occupational Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation Services. Julie married Donald G. Schneeberger in 1960 in Hawaii and then spent three years in Japan where Don served as a Navy Officer on the USS Terrell County LST 1157 in Yokosuka, Japan. Their first daughter, Patricia was born in Japan (1962) and their second daughter, Linda was born in Milwaukee (1966). In 2000, Julie and Don both retired, spending winters in Key Largo, FL and summers in Richfield, Wisconsin. In Milwaukee, Julie served with the Girl Scouts, Junior League of Milwaukee, Service Club of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Toymakers Guild. In Key Largo, Julie served as a hospice volunteer and was active in the Garden Club, Orchid Club and Upper Keys Fishing Club. Julie is also a Daughter of the American Revolution. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 1200 Saint Gabriel Way, Hubertus, WI (near Hwy 164 and Hubertus Road). Julie's ashes will be interred in Lexington, Kentucky at a family plot in November. A celebration of Life Memorial Ceremony will be held in Key Largo, Florida this winter. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrance gifts be sent to Horizon Home Care and Hospice, 11400 West Lake Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53224.
