Judith Diane Peterson December 8, 1936 ~ March 29, 2017 Resident of Federal Way, WA Judy Peterson, 80, died from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was cared for by her family until her passing. Judy was born in Longview, WA to Perley Paul Palmer, Jr. and Gertrude Hanson Palmer. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom Peterson, on 06/29/1957. They raised three children, Michelle (d.1975), Stephen and Karen. Judy was a great woman of faith, family and friends. While Tom's career took the family to numerous locations around the country, Judy would get to work making a house a home, finding a church and becoming involved in the community, making dear, lifelong friends along the way. Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tom, siblings Buck Palmer and Peggy Palmer, son Stephen (Shawna), daughter Karen and grandchildren Cody (Annie) Peterson, Tyler, Maxwell and Emma Nelson, Stephanie, Alan, Dan and Joe Hoffman and 3 great grandchildren. Judy was a faithful member of St. Matthew Episcopal Church, Brown's Point, 6800 Eastside Drive, Tacoma, WA 98422 where there will be a Celebration of Life on April 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Matthew Capital Campaign, The Alzheimer's Association-Seattle or Franciscan Hospice House, Tacoma. We will always remember Judy for her gourmet cooking, her eye for design and style, the endless games of hide and seek with the grandkids, and her strong faith. God bless you and keep you, Judy.
