Juan Ramiro Arango Rios passed away on Sunday surrounded by family and friends. A native of Mexico City, Juan was employed with a major bank there before coming to the United States, where he worked for many years as a stern manager for Mexicali Restaurants. Determined to set an example for his daughter, he returned to school and obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in accounting. A gentleman of unfailing politeness, Juan had a generous heart, mischievous sense of humor and near-snobbish pride in hailing from Mexico's capital. He loved Spanish language poetry and music and had an endless supply of stale jokes. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband and father, and fought valiantly when illness set in. He is survived by his wife Pam and daughter Karina, along with sisters Soledad (Mike) Moreno, Elsa Cuevas, and Cristina Rios, sisters-in-law Barbara Williams (Bob) and Jeannette Foster (Randy) and numerous nieces and nephews. His sister Melisenda predeceased him in 2003. Without question, he will be missed. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
