NUNN, Joyce McDowell On October 9, 2016 Joyce McDowell Hyde Nunn went home to be with the Lord at the age of 87. She suffered from dementia for many years and passed peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise Senior Living at Hillcrest, Dallas. She was born on February 23, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia to George and Elsie McDowell. She and her husband, Joel Hyde, settled in Dallas with their daughters in 1956. She loved Dallas, and lived in the same home for nearly 60 years. Joyce worked at the Dallas Apparel Mart as a showroom manager for many years. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. She loved to travel, and was an avid gardener, loving everything about nature. Joyce is survived by her husband, Al Nunn (married in 1987) and her three daughters, Jenise Hurley and son-in-law, Phil Hurley of Dallas; Jan Tucker of Charleston, South Carolina; Jill Woods and son-in-law, Clancy Woods of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was Mimi to 7 grandchildren and Great Mimi to 4 great grandchildren. She was a beautiful lady full of grace and kindness. Her friends and family, who are so grateful for her presence in their lives, will miss her dearly. A family service will be held in Atlanta, Ga. at the historic Westview Mausoleum. Memorials may be made in Joyce's name to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org .
