Joyce Anne Freund Born: July 25, 1932; in Chicago, IL Died: October 11, 2016; in McHenry, IL Joyce Anne Freund, 84, of McHenry, IL and winter resident of Bonita Springs, FL died October 11, 2016 in McHenry. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. She was born in Chicago, July 25, 1932 to Marie and Russell Ostrand. She married William Pinkonsly, Jr. January 28, 1956. On July 2, 1978 she married Lawrence (Bud) G. Freund. She had a long career as a secretary/executive assistant employed by Montgomery Ward for 10 years, East Campus H.S. McHenry for 10 years, Wm. Tonyan & Sons for 2 years and retired from Baxter Healthcare after 19 years in 1997. Upon retiring she devoted much of her time to her art work. As a watercolorist Joyce exhibited her paintings at various art shows and local restaurants, both in Illinois and in Florida. She was a member of the Northwest Area Arts Council, the Barrington Area Arts Council and the Bonita Springs Arts Council. Her winters were spent in Bonita Springs, FL where she enjoyed the company of many friends and the countless activities provided by the senior park she resided at. She was a beautiful, strong, intelligent woman who loved her family deeply. Her happiest times were spent at family gatherings. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making dinners for both family and friends. She traveled extensively, both here in the States and abroad. Joyce is survived by her children, a son, Dr. Will Pinkonsly (Peggy), Berlin, WI, and a daughter, Bonnie Jo Pink (Leonard Lisitza) of McHenry; two grandchildren, Samantha Leffler and Sully Pinkonsly; and three great grandchildren, Collin, Lillian Joy Meier, and Cooper Leffler. She is also survived by her extended family - two step daughters, Jackie Miller (Jerry) of Sunrise Beach, MO and Lee Ann Adams (Mike) of McHenry; 4 step grandsons, Darryl (Megan) Miller, Phillip (Chris) Miller, Jacob and Kevin (Tiffany) Adams; and a 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Brooke and Brody Miller and Matthew Adams; two sisters, Carole Jankowski (Art, deceased) of Seattle, WA and Marie (Karl) Grams of Fountain Valley, CA. and Prescott, AZ; and a niece; 3 nephews; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her ex-husband, William; and her parents, Marie and Russell Ostrand. To honor Joyce's wishes all services will be private. Arrangements were handled by Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL.
