Joy W. Luck
June 22, 1930 - April 14, 2017 age 86 of Birmingham, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael S. Luck; and daughter, Cynthia Joy McDonald. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, David S. Luck; sons, Wayne Luck (Kathleen) and Craig A. Luck (Sharon); grandchildren, Aaron Luck, Matt Luck, Ashleigh Brown (Eddie), Chris Luck, Adrian Luck, David Luck, Stacy Luck, Daniel Luck, Jeff McDonald (Kim) and Justin McDonald (Shannon); 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The last surviving child of Eula and George Wiley, Joy was a kind and gentle person who loved Jesus with all her heart. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all. Joy was a faithful church member all her life formerly of Odena Baptist Church and currently Deerfoot Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and working with children. Joy served as a nurse for 21 years at Baptist Montclair Hospital and she loved doing ceramics and gardening. She had a green thumb and loved flowers and had a great desire to tend to Jesus' flower garden. Her family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 1-2 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
