Josephine M. (O'Brien) Goode Tassinary, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Braintree and Sandwich, Mass., passed away January 8, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Charles N. Goode and Harold "Bud" F. Tassinary; devoted mother to Susan M. Gerstel of Braintree, Nancy J. Buckley of E. Sandwich, Lauren A. Kelly of Naples, Fla., and Charles F. Goode of Windermere, Fla.; proud mother-in-law to Richard C. Buckley, Edward J. Kelly, Michelle M. Goode and the late Robert B. Gerstel; adoring grandmother to: Robert C. Gerstel, Amy M. McIntyre, Brian F. Gerstel, Joanna C. Buckley, Mikaela E. Kelly, Edward L.D. Kelly, Kyle C. Goode and Darcy J. Goode; adoring step-grandmother to Denise Embree Kelly, Jaclyn A. Hostetler, John S. Kelly, and Peter A. Kelly; great-grandmother to Aidan, Emily and Sean McIntyre and Ryan E.L. Kelly; fond aunt of several nieces and nephews; and loyal friend to many in Massachusetts and Florida. She was predeceased by her father, Hugh F. O'Brien, mother, Delia Kenny O'Brien and brothers, Robert P. O'Brien and James F. O'Brien. Josephine was born and raised in Boston, then lived in Braintree, for several decades and later Naples, Fla., and E. Sandwich. She graduated from the Boston School System, and later from Lee Real Estate Institute in Brookline, Mass. Josephine was a "woman before her time" and her story is one of "rags to riches", over the course of her life. She was born in Roxbury, Mass., and she died surrounded by the beauty of Naples, Fla. She worked from the age of thirteen years old. She became a successful co-owner with her husband/team mate, Harold of Goode Real Estate, and Braintree's Package Store, both of which they ran for decades. They invested in many successful real estate ventures throughout the years. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Clare Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
