Joseph M. Vodzak
Joseph M. Vodzak, 62, of Dallas, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Stephanie Rokitko Vodzak. Joseph was employed as a commercial airline pilot for more than 20 years followed by a number of personal business ventures. Joseph and his wife, Susan, raised their children in their family home of 40 years in Franklin Township. He had a great passion for, and pride in, his family and children as well as a consistent sense of service to his friends, neighbors and community. Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 41 years, the former Susan Meyer, are his children, Jason Vodzak and wife, Sara, Baltimore, Md.; Heather Vodzak, Canadensis; Kristen Hibbard and husband, Benjamin, Tunkhannock; Megan Vodzak, Washington, D.C.; and Amy Paccapaniccia and husband, Anthony, Jamison; grandchildren, Grace, Claire and Emmett Hibbard and Owen Vodzak; sister, Gloria Vodzak, Wilkes-Barre; and cherished cousin, Lauren Vodzak, Wilkes-Barre. The Vodzak family will receive friends from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Services, under the direction of the Rev. Harold Schorr, pastor of Centermoreland United Methodist Church, will follow the visitation.
