Joseph Sandor AGE: 83 • Formerly of Carteret Joseph Sandor, 83, of Monroe died Tuesday at Princeton Medical Center. He was born in Carteret and resided there until moving to Monroe in 2015. He was a pipe fitter with Exxon Research and Engineering in Linden for 38 years before his retirement. Mr. Sandor was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 2314 in Carteret and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Carteret. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret (Katelvero) Sandor; his first wife, Evelyn (Cheress) Sandor in 1996 and his son, Scott Sandor in 2009. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Przybycien) Sandor; his sons, Mark Sandor (Kelly) of Glen Ellyn, IL and Glenn Sandor (Gale) of North Brunswick; his brother, Richard Sandor (Barbara) of Denver, CO and his sister, Arlene Spewak(Tom) of Moraga, CA. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Danielle Sandor-Giddes (Kyle), Michael J. Sandor (Nicolin Bloch), and Jack and Phillip Sandor. And, he was thrilled to have been able to meet his first great-grandson, Max Joseph Giddes, who is only 3 weeks old. Funeral services are under the direction of Rumpf Funeral Home, 21 Locust Street, Carteret. Visitation will be Friday from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A service will be held at 10:45 in the Funeral Home. Interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 2314, 289 Pershing Avenue, Carteret, NJ 07008.
