Joseph M. Pineda
Joseph Joe Pineda was a man of phenomenal tenacity, character, love and humor. Born on April 20, 1959, the Filipino native was blessed with the ability to produce a quick joke followed by a sharp smile that would light up a room and warm the hearts of everyone in it. Joe was a tall, burly, hard working man who never ceased at the opportunity to labor in contentment for his family. Working as a Merchant Marine, Joe circumnavigated the globe and, because he was a man who believed moderation was for cowards, he did it twice. After his romantic, fabled adventures at sea and abroad, Joe immigrated to Virginia in 1983, where he would meet the love of his life, Queenie. Joe would soon find his way with his loving family to the Last Frontier. It is here where he found opportunity in the American Dream by establishing his roots in the restaurant business, continuing on later to operate his own restaurant here in Anchorage. Joe never allowed his family, friends and strangers to leave hungry or without laughing. Joseph is survived by his immediate family, which includes his loving wife, Queenie; his two sons, Andrew and John; and his three granddaughters, Angel, Andi and Daphne Chula.
