Raymondville - Jose "Pepe" De Leon, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. He was born on December 13, 1934 in Mercedes, TX to Riley Gomez and Guadalupe (Cepeda) De Leon. Pepe is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Urence De Leon, Leonso De Leon, Vicente De Leon, Roque De Leon, Catarino De Leon, Riley De Leon, Jr., Reynaldo De Leon, sisters, Berta De Leon Zamora, Paulina De Leon, Evangelina De Leon Camarillo and Ernestina De Leon. He is survived by his wife, Santos De Leon, sons, Jose "JD" (Sandra) De Leon, Jr., Robert (Lydia) De Leon, Jaime De Leon, Raul G. (Melba) Garcia, daughters, Cynthia Hernandez, Belinda (Kris) Huber, Beatrice (Manuel) Moreno, brother, Reynaldo (Mary) De Leon, sister-in-law, Elvira De Leon, sister, Janie De Leon Romeros, grandchildren, Jonathan De Leon, Michael De Leon, Robert De Leon, Jr., Joshua De Leon, Evelyn De Leon, Alexandra (Jesse) Rosenbaum, Andrew Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, Catherine Hernandez, Victoria De Leon, Vanessa De Leon, Julissa De Leon, Roark Huber, Diego Moreno, Lucinda Garcia, Allysa Luna, great-grandchildren Maryann De Leon, Talia De Leon, Marco Antonio Ramos II, Samantha Garcia and Anastasia Gallegos. Pepe faithfully served Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church all of his life which he cherished and loved. He served our country for 30+ years in both the United States Army and National Guard as well as holding different job titles with HEB also for 30+ years. Private family visitation began on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 12pm until 9pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 7pm at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Visitations will continue for family and friends on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 8am until 9pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 7pm also at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral mass to celebrate Pepe's life will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 693 N. 3rd St. in Raymondville. A funeral procession will lead to his final place of rest to the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery where he will be honored for his service with the U.S. Army and National Guard by American Legion Post 390. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jonathan De Leon, Michael De Leon, Robert De Leon, Jr., Joshua De Leon, Andrew Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez and Diego Moreno.
