BARTLETT - John "Johnny" Sinitean, 90, of Bartlett, passed away at home on October 1, 2016. Born on June 11, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated from Lane Tech Prep School in 1944 and was a retired Union Sheet Metal Worker. A proud veteran of the US Army serving in WWII Germany, in 2015 he was escorted by Chicago Honor Flight to Washington DC to see the WWII Memorial. He spent his life building and fixing everything and his passion for tinkering remained until the end. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lois Jane (Glienke), 6 children: Sandra (David) Nyc, Donna (the late Christopher) Ginn, John (Gayle) Sinitean, Patricia (Edwin) Rodriquez, Randy (Maryanne) Sinitean, Susan Sinitean (Valerie Wolf), and proud grandfather to 13 and great-grandfather to 19. All are invited to gather on Thursday, October 20 at Grace Lutheran Church, 780 S. Bartlett Rd., Streamwood, IL 60107 from 4 pm to 7 pm, prayer service held at 6:30 pm. Inurnment will be Friday, October 21 at 10:00 am sharp, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL 60421 with full military honors.
