In memory of
John LaMar Redding
John LaMar Redding FREMONT: John LaMar Redding, 68, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Good Friday morning at the ProMedica Memorial ER. John was born in March 9, 1949 to LaMar Redding of Fremont and Marietta Baker Redding, formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida. John became an avid race car enthusiast. All starting at his father's Pure Oil Station working on his race car, 2B or Not 2B. You could find John at Fremont Speedway, Attica, Eldora or at a variety of Nascar races. His biggest excitement was owning his own race car, #46, and racing it every opportunity he had. Walking, talking or driving, speed was John's life. John was retired from Kelsey Hayes where he worked in maintenance and also an OSHA Safety Director. He was recently employed by the Steps Agency as a caregiver. John spent 2 years in Milwaukee as caregiver to his mother until her passing. His biggest love was people. His mission in life was to make people laugh and anyone who needed help, John was there. His energy was contagious. As a former student of Fremont Ross High School, he agonized over leaving before graduation. John resumed classes in 2014 and was awarded his GED. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and also participated in the Alpha series as his faith became very important to him. John is survived by a son, Jon Tony Redding and a Granddaughter, Ashley Marie Redding, both of Fremont and sisters, Peggy Rutherford (Tim) of Fremont, and Denise Redding from Greenfield, Wisconsin. Also surviving are nephew Ryan Flick and niece Laura Baumann (Buck) both of Fremont, former wife Lana Redding and numerous cousins in Colorado, Arizona, California and Florida. John was preceded in death by father, LaMar Redding and mother, Marietta Redding. A gathering for John will be Thursday, April 20th, from 4 to 7p.m. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 900 North St., Fremont, Ohio. His Celebration of Life service will be at 11a.m. on Friday, April 21st at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 West State Street, Fremont, Ohio, with visitation an hour before service.
