In memory of
John Curtis Kite
LTC John Curtis Kite went to be with Our Lord on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the age of 81. John was born the youngest of two children, to the late Don and Geraldine Kite in Morgantown, West Virginia. He received a Baccalaureate from West Virginia University, was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army, and married his wife, Sue, prior to obtaining a Masters in Engineering from the University of Alabama. (Roll Tide!) The couple raised their family while John proudly served his country for twenty years. He retired from the military as a decorated officer and went on to enjoy successful careers in real estate, property management and engineering, finally retiring from BF Goodrich Aerospace in 1998. John was married to his wife for almost sixty years. They both loved the outdoors and made Black Forest, Colorado their home for the past twenty-eight years. John was a member of the MOAA, St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was active in The Gideons. He was a devoted father, who loved his wife and family. John lived life his way but will always be remembered for his sincere kindness, his ever-present smile and his positive attitude. His interests were his church, football, wood- working, golf and his animals. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue; his four daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Ybarra, Dianna Kite, Jodie (Ryan) Bertram, and Janessa Kite; three wonderful grandchildren, Cassie, Nick and Ashlynn; and two great-grandchildren, Grace and Jonah. Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Memorial donations may be made in John's memory to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
