John Jackson
John (Jack) W. Jackson Salisbury-John (Jack) W. Jackson, 84, of Salisbury, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his home after a brief illness. He was born to the late J. Walter and Agnes B. Jackson of Parsonsburg, MD on July 8, 1932. After graduating from Wicomico Senior High School in 1950 and attending now Salisbury University, he enlisted in the Army in 1953 and served 17 months in Korea. In 1960, he was graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in Business Administration. Jack worked for Campbell Soup for 34 years in various management capacities. He was a member of BPOE #17 and Zion UMC, where he was active in many capacities. Many summers were spent enjoying the beach, the ocean, swimming and water skiing. He loved mowing the yard with a push mower because he was an avid exerciser even before gym memberships became his passion. Jack is survived by his wife JoAnne of 60 years; daughter Lynne and her husband Barry Glass; sister Betty Anne Frederick and her husband Fred; niece Cindy; nephews Craig (Helen), Chris (Karen), Jeff (Janelle). A son-in-law, L.M. Carey, predeceased him in 2011. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11 am at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park.
