Hale, grew up in Ohio, and graduated from Chelsea (MI) High School in 1942. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Jeffers in the Pacific Theater, and was in Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII. John married Jacqueline Braeudigam Hale in 1950 in Ann Arbor, MI, and was happily married for 66 years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor for over 50 years and The Ann Arbor Country Club, where he was an avid golfer for many years. He enjoyed the deep love of his family, including the family dachshund Heidi and grand-doxies Tyler McKenzie & Argus McFargus. John is survived by wife Jacqueline of Dexter, MI, son John W. "Jay" Hale II (& wife Julie) of Pinckney, MI and daughter Jane L. Hale (& husband Chuck Buckalew) of Fenton, MI. John was preceded in death by his mother Miriam B. Hale in 1964 and father John W. Hale in 1971. Cremains will be interred in the Westminster Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden in Ann Arbor, MI. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
