In memory of
FLAVIN, John P. John P. Flavin of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away after a brief illness at the age of 82 on Friday, October 14, 2016, surrounded by family. He was the devoted father of Kathleen (Dan) Smith of McLean, VA; Erin Flavin of Dallas, TX; and Liam (Victoria) Flavin of Arlington, TX, and loving grandfather to Madeline Smith. An entrepreneur and philanthropist, he established several businesses including Triangle Plumbing Supply Company and Score Cards, a baseball card company. He believed education was the great equalizer and used his philanhropic endeavors to support schools from the grammar level to the university level, both on the east coast and in the Dallas- Ft Worth area. A devoted fan of baseball and travel, he pursued both with great enthusiasm, and shared his love of both with family and friends equally. He served in the Unites States Army and credited his being stationed in Germany with fostering his love of travel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Flavin and his brother, Joseph Flavin. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, October 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to the charity of your choice. MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 703-533-0341
