EASTHAMPTON - John Denis Emond of Easthampton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016,at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was born April 16, 1962, in Springfield, the son of Andre and Marthe Emond (both deceased), and then, of step-father Raymond Messier (deceased). He was raised in Northampton and attended local schools. He graduated in 1981 from Northampton High School. He leaves behind his loving fiancé Heidi Riordan and her four children, family and dear friends, former wife Pamela Emond and son John Emond, son Austin Emond. He is survived by his siblings Andre Emond (Christine) of Virginia, Bryan Emond (Moonim) of South Korea, Ann Anzalone of Easthampton, Liza Cable (Russell) of Hampden, Patricia Bara (Chet) of Huntington, and their families with many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves an extended step-family Patricia, Rose, Donna and Gerald. He was employed for many years by Tubed Products, Inc., and the Holden Humphrey Co. He owned and operated John's Repair and Towing and Auto Sales in Northampton fulfilling his passion of working in the auto-repair industry. John trained at the Police Academy in Agawam, and served as a Hampshire County Sheriff. He was a dedicated sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Hampshire County. John was known for his love of living life to its fullest. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends as well as fishing, boating, spending time at the beach, and listening to music. John was a kind man with a big heart, always willing to help someone. He will be forever missed by us all. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Burial will be at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Northampton. At his request, private services will be held for family.
