John "June" Clonce Jr.
John Clonce, Jr. (June), 88, of Sneedville, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. He professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church. June was a member of the Hancock County School Board for 24 years. He was the proud owner of Clonce's Market for 37 years, where you would find him every day enjoying spending time with loyal customers who were also his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. John and Mae (Seal) Clonce; wife, Lousie Mullins Clonce; children, Deanna, Johnny and an infant son; and brothers, Wright, Chester, Garrett, William and Buddy Clonce. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Eddie Buttry, Missy and Jeff Marion, of Sneedville and Judy and Earl Crumley of Ewing, Va.; grandson and wife, Jamie and Melanie Stanifer; granddaughter, Misty Stanifer; great-grandsons, Drake and Emerson Stanifer; great-granddaughter, Sadie Stanifer of Sneedville; brother, Roy Clonce; sisters, Tener Seal, Sally Turnmire and Dorothy Harvey; special friends, Jessie Seal, Ron Pareti, LC Ferguson, Ed Greene, Polly McCoy, Carol Burke, Charlie and Joyce Crawford; and all of his customers throughtout the years. The family would like to extend their gratitude for all of the love and compassion that has been given during his brief illness: Hancock County Hospital, Amedysis Home Health and Hospice. Hancock Manor Nursing Home and Dr. John Short. The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at McNeil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 in McNeil Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Tommy Seals and Earl Crumley officiating. Interment will follow in the Briar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Stanifer, Drake Stanifer, Misty Stanifer, Jeff Marion, Jessie Seal and Mike Clonce. Honorary pallbearers are LC Ferguson, Scottie Collins, Ed Greene, Carl Reed, Charlie Crawford, Hugh Kyle Royston, Carl Rice, Wayne Wallen, Emerson Stanifer and Eddie Buttry.
