John F. Chamberlain
John Francis Chamberlain, 68, of Rockland died at his home on Friday, October 7, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born at Quincy City Hospital on Cranch Hill on January 5, 1948, John was the son of the late John P. and Phyllis L. Chamberlain. He grew up in Dedham and made his home in Rockland for the past 10 years. John was a 1966 graduate of Dedham High School. He went on to receive an associate's degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Culinary Arts. In 1971, he enlisted in the Navy and served a tour of duty in Vietnam aboard the attack carrier USS America. He later pursued a career in the food industry. John was a loving husband, brother, cousin and uncle who made friends wherever he went. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was always there if you needed help. He will be missed. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Irene Reis Chamberlain; his brothers, Thomas P. Chamberlain.and his wife Lesley of Scituate, Peter B. Chamberlain of Pembroke and Stephen Chamberlain and his wife Caroline of Scituate; 2 nieces, Christy Driscoll of Cohasset and Lindsay Simpson of Hanover; and 3 nephews, Toby Chamberlain of Scituate, Timothy Chamberlain of Cohasset and Cameron Chamberlain of Scituate. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 22, at 9 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., Rockland.
