Westenburg-Hazewinkel Born in Bloemendaal, the Netherlands in 1923, Hans is survived by his wife, Helene L. Westenburg-Hazewinkel, of nearly 47 years, his two sons and their partners, Johan P. Westenburg and Machteld L. Schrameijer of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Hans E. and Melissa D. Westenburg (Neighbors) of Thousand Oaks, California. Hans is also survived by his brother, Jacobus J. Westenburg, of Midlothian, Texas, and his grandchildren, Anna C. Davis of Los Angeles, California, H. Christian A. Westenburg and Hazel J. Westenburg of Redlands, California and Caleb E. Westenburg of Thousand Oaks, California. A cremation will take place on Friday, February 17th for immediate family. A memorial service celebrating the life of Hans and his love for every day he was given will be held at the First Church of Windsor on 107 Palisado Avenue in Windsor, CT. at 5PM on Saturday, March 4, 2017. A second memorial service will be held on March 18th at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund of the First Church of Windsor or Northwest Park and Nature Center, Windsor, CT located at 145 Lang Road, Windsor, CT 06095.
