Joel F. Stradel
Joel F. Stradel 71 of Wayside died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Maple Ridge Nursing Home with his family at his side. He was born September 13, 1945 in Green Bay to the late Joseph and Laura (Natzke) Stradel. On May 6, 1981 he married Cheryl Berger in Las Vegas, NV. Joel graduated from Brillion High School, served his country in the U.S. Army, was an avid trap shooter, loved fishing and hunting and all sports. Joel was a taxidermist and was a very talented artist in church renovations. Joel was a member of the Amvets Post 1032 of Reedsville and an honorary member of the Wayside Fire Department. Survivors include his wife Cheryl, two sons and daughters-in-law: Serphin (Luke) and Sherry DeWitt, Jeffery and Chrissy DeWitt; one daughter and son-in-law Faye and Jeff Nedobeck; one brother and sister-in-law Jay and Sharon Stradel, one brother-in-law, Eldor Eichhorst; Cheryl's family of 2 sisters and brothers-in-law Coleen and Robert Wautlet, Claire and Gary Bichler; 6 grandchildren: Payton and Brice Nedobeck, Ty DeWitt, Dakota and Amanda Henschel and Kelsey Fels, Nieces and nephews: Dale Eichhorst, Dennis Eichhorst, Cheryl Grassel, his grandson Jeff Stradel, Jon Stradel, Joe Stradel, Julie Graff, Bruce Wautlet, Bobby Wautlet, Emily Bichler and Ali Bichler; other relatives and many friends. Joel was preceded in death by a half-brother and two sisters-in-law: Harold (Clarice) Brandt and Lois Eichhorst; mother-in-law and father-in-law Emily and Donald Berger and brother Bruce Berger. Private family funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Nickel Funeral Home in Morrison. Words cannot express our gratitude to the staff at Maple Ridge Nursing Home for all the care extended to Joel and our family. To Nickel Funeral Home and to all of Joel's friends who came to visit.
