Joanne Carol Robison ROCK HILL - Joanne Carol Robison, 84, of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away in the early morning hours on Oct. 13, 2016, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Woodland United Methodist Church, 801 N. Cherry Rd., Rock Hill. Joanne was born Joanne Carol Ernst in Madison, Ohio, on Nov. 29, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Elsie Ernst of Madison, Ohio; sister, Betty Chapman of Perry, Ohio; brother, Kenneth Ernst of Madison, Ohio; and son, Kevin J. Robison of Charlotte, N.C. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William J. Robison Jr of Rock Hill; sister, Margie Drought of Geneva, Ohio; sister, Hazel Bernard of Madison, Ohio; brother, David Ernst (wife, Dianne) of Kent, Ohio; son, William George (wife, Dana) of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Richard George of San Ramon, Calif; and daughter, Kerri Pierce (husband, David) of Rock Hill, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Joanne is survived by and was very proud of her seven grandchildren, Nate and Tori Pierce of Rock Hill; Kelli, Nicole, and Shannon George of San Ramon, Calif; Sean Deckert of Los Angeles, Calif., and Courtney Eder of Phoenix, Ariz. Joanne was a long-time member of Woodland United Methodist Church in Rock Hill where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class which she loved dearly. Having survived ovarian cancer for over 33 years, Joanne provided support and encouragement throughout her life to those she came across who had received a cancer diagnosis. Joanne loved being with family, enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, playing the piano, and traveling. She had a special bond with her sisters and when they were together, the room was always filled with fun and laughter. Joanne has been a bookkeeper, librarian, secretary, and loving homemaker. She was always fond of pets and had several dogs and cats over the years. She was loved by all those who knew her and will be deeply missed by everyone.
