Joan Rogers BARTONVILLE - Joan Marilyn Rogers, 84, of Bartonville passed away at 5:36 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was a former 50-year resident of Glasford. Born Nov. 23, 1932, in Peoria to John H. and Elizabeth A (Gibbons) Peters, she married Joseph H. Rogers on Aug. 5, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Peoria. Surviving are one son, Michael S. Rogers of King George, VA; ten daughters, Susan (Carlos) Bohm of Creve Coeur, Christine (Thomas) Lanan of Mapleton, Barbara (Robert) Zyskowski of Bonduel, WI, Bonnie (Doug) Wakefield of Columbia, MO, Nancy (Michael) Kingsley of Escondido, CA, Margaret (Randy) Rynearson of Glasford, Denise (Timothy) Gregor of Solon, IA, Judith (David) Sweet of Glasford and Theresa (James) DeRagisch and Carol Rogers, both of Bartonville; thirty-one grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John R. Peters. Joan worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 17 years at the Mapleton Foundry, retiring in 1987. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and family time was very important to her. She always enjoyed attending her grandkids activities. She also liked working crossword puzzles and liked to go on bus trips. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Antonio Dittmer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with the recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, in care of St. Joseph Catholic Church; Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation; National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Arthritis Foundation; or the Autism Society.
