Jim Inouye passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, in Fresno, CA, at the age of 83. He was born on August 7, 1933, in Fowler, CA, and raised in Earlimart, CA, and Selma, CA. After obtaining an engineering degree from Fresno State College, he eventually moved to Fresno, where he worked and retired as a Mechanical Engineer at Ranchers Cotton Oil for 30 plus years. His hobbies included bowling, gardening, gambling, spending time with his family, and loved watching Fresno State sports. Jim is survived by his daughter, Reiko Obata and her husband Larry; his daughter, Miya Tsumura and her husband Darren; his brother, George Inouye; his sister, Lilly Hiramoto and her husband Ted; and his grandsons, Devin Tsumura, Royce Tsumura, and Corbin Obata. Visitation will be held at Farewell Page Funeral Chapel in Selma, CA, on Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the United Japanese Christian Church, 136 N. Villa, in Clovis, CA, on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.
