Jimmie D. Carpenter, 85, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, surrounded by his family. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at United Memorial Christian Church, 1401 North Main St., Euless. Jimmie was born July 5, 1931, in Agra, Okla., to Grant and Gladys Carpenter. He was the youngest of four children. He loved the outdoors and the Big Bend Country and the Rocky Mountains. Jim loved to cook and clean. He was in the construction business most of his life and was involved in many buildings in downtown Dallas. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities. He was very proud to be a veteran serving during the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 66 years and high school sweetheart, Shirley; sons, Ron Carpenter and Dan Carpenter and his wife, Debbie; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
