Jesusa Diaz Corpus Christi, TX Susie Diaz, 43, was born September 9, 1973 in San Francisco, California to Delfina Salinas and the late Reynaldo Salinas. Susie married Reyes Diaz on June 28, 1997 in Beeville, Texas. This union was blessed with two wonderful children; Diego Alejandro and Analicia Ines Diaz. Susie was a 1992 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School and after graduating high school, she studied at Bee County College and also at the University of Texas at Brownsville. Susie held many job titles throughout her life but none more rewarding than that of Mom. Everything she did in life was for the betterment of her children. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was called by the Lord on the afternoon of January 10, 2017, after a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer. Susie always had a positive outlook on life, even when faced with this dreaded disease. Susie is survived by her husband, Reyes and their children, Diego and Analicia who reside in Corpus Christi, Texas. Other survivors include her mother, Delfina Salinas of Skidmore, Texas; and her sisters Deborah (the late Efraim) Lopez and Theresa (Joe) Gonzales of Skidmore, Texas, Anna (Ray) Hernandez of Flour Bluff, Texas and Lisa Contreras of Beeville, Texas. Susie is also survived by her father-in-law, Joe; sisters-in-law, Rita, Anna and Rene all of Bracketville, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Susie is preceded in death by her father, Reynaldo Salinas, her mother-in-law, Alicia Diaz and both of her maternal and paternal grandparents. Susie's wishes will be honored and her body will be cremated under the guidance of the Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. The rosary will be recited on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral chapel located at 4599 Business 181 North in Beeville, Texas. A Catholic Mass with Fr. Thomas Goodwin will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 600 North First Street in Skidmore, Texas followed by interment of her remains at the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas.
