Jerome R. Kramer
Jerome R. Kramer passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona, on October 6, 2016, at the age of 93. Jerry was born in Erie, on February 15, 1923, the son of the late Joseph C. and Minnie Kramer. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, in the China-Burma-India theater. Following his military service, he was the owner of J.C. Kramer Furs, located in downtown Erie. He was recognized by his peers as a master furrier, a rare designation, and proudly designed and constructed fur coats for over fifty years. Jerry was a lifelong supporter of downtown Erie and the community, serving in many civic and charitable organizations. Following his retirement in 1995, he volunteered at HealthSouth rehabilitation, where he was awarded volunteer of the year. He lived in Scottsdale, Arizona in the final years of his life, with his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty. In addition to Betty Kramer, he is survived by his daughter Nancy Kramer Strong (Peter), sons Edward Kramer of Scottsdale, Joseph Kramer of Erie and Roger Kramer (Jennifer) of St. Paul, Minn., as well as four grandchildren Sarah Hoodin, David Strong, Natalie Kramer and Olivia Kramer.
