Jeannine S. Lessard
Jeannine S. Lessard of Morrisville and formerly of Newport Center, passed away surrounded by her loving family and devoted nursing staff of The Manor on April 13th, 2017 in Morrisville,VT. She was born on May 8th, 1938 in Newport Center to Henry and Anna (Fecteau) Lessard. She attended Sacred Heart Schools and was a member of the St. Mary's Church. She was an active member in the Cursillo Movement for the diocese of Burlington. She was an associate of the Daughters of Charity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Littleton, NH. Jeannine received an Associates Degree as an x-ray technician from UVM in Burlington. She worked for years at the Mary Fletcher Hospital as Chief Technician. From there she worked in Hanover, NH, Florida, and Duke University in North Carolina as Chief Radiologist Technician. In her later years she served as an advocate for the Aging and Disabilities for the State of Vermont. Jeannine was very devoted and courageous in her life's vocation as a Radiologist. Her last service was acting as President of the Resident Council at The Manor in Morrisville. Among her hobbies she enjoyed traveling, bingo, puzzles, and scrabble. She is survived by her sisters, Sr. Henrietta Lessard and Eleanor Tess, and also by her sister-in-law Rita (Midge) Lessard, and by many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the following sisters, Laurence Lessard, Sr. Rose Helen Lessard, and Georgette Tetreault. Her Brothers, Paul, Dominic, John, Jules, Philip, and Norbert Lessard. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home located at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, Saturday April 22nd, 2017 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Lowell, VT.
