Dailey, Jeanne E. Jeanne E. Dailey passed away in Tennessee at her daughter's house on October 8, 2016. She was born on November 19, 1917 in Walton, NY. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Francis X. Dailey (when he wasn't responding to fire and ambulance calls); her parents: Charles A. DePuy and Ora M. (Carroll) DePuy; her two brothers: Art and Max DePuy; her 4 sons-in-law and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her loving daughters: Fran J. Derr-Strickland, Carol A. Dailey, Kathy M. (Jim) Ballard, and Sally M. Ballard; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne graduated from Hamilton, NY high school, and she went on to Ithaca College where she graduated with a degree in Physical Education. She came to Deposit, where she met Fran (Pop) whom she married on June 29, 1941. They moved to 36 Church St., and she continued to live there for 70 years. She taught Phys. Ed. in Deposit and Hancock. She also worked at the U.S. Post Office in Deposit. She was a member of the Deposit Fireman's Auxiliary, Deposit Historical Society, Senior Citizens, and was a former trustee of Pine Grove Cemetery. She was an avid bowler for many years and loved to go blueberry picking. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Zacharias Funeral Home, 78 Second St., Deposit, New York with Rev. Keith Albee officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Deposit, New York. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM time of service.
