Jean M. Karlowitch NAZARETH Jean M. Karlowitch, 83, of Nazareth, PA, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving children, on Thursday, April 13, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Karlowitch, who passed away on Aug. 3, 2001. Jean was born July 17, 1933, in Fountain Hill, PA, the daughter of the late Stanley and Alverna (Schneck) Woodring. Jean graduated from Nazareth High School in 1951. She became the first secretary at Holy Family School, where she worked from 1969 to 2005, and was the first crossing guard for 32 years on the corner of Convent Ave. and Mauch Chunk St. in Nazareth. Jean was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by son, Frank Karlowitch and wife Debbie, of Nazareth; daughters, Nancy Acton, of Nazareth; Jane Dailey and husband Bobby, of Palmer Township; son, Thomas Karlowitch, with whom she resided; daughter, Jo Ann Dischinat and husband Greg, of Nazareth; grandchildren, Ryan Karlowitch and wife Denise, Brett Karlowitch and wife Krista, Christopher Dailey and wife Mary, T.J. Dailey and fiancee, Elyse Hozza, Steven Acton and Nicki Dischinat, and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Kayla Karlowitch. She will also be missed by her loving pets, Shadow and Lucky. She was predeceased by grandson, Jeff Dailey; brothers, Stanley, Gerald, Robert Woodring, and sisters, Dolores Sipos, Margaret Kellow, Kathryn Schlamp, and Elaine Doyle. Services will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., in the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., in the Holy Family Church, Nazareth. Burial is private. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., until services in the funeral home.
