Jean E. Carlson
Jean Elizabeth Moore Carlson, originally from Lexington, MA, most recently of Tellico Village, TN born August 6, 1926 in Somerville, Massachusetts to Hilda Elizabeth (Soderhollm) & Irving Leroy Moore. She died on October 7, 2016 in Lexington, KY surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy Albert Moore, sister Phyllis Ann Moore. Loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survived by loving husband, Ivar Daniel Carlson, of 63 years. Survived by son Bruce Ivar Carlson, daughter Donna Carlson Walker (Jeff), son Douglas Daniel Carlson, daughter Meredith Carlson Clark (Wesley) and grandchildren, Adam Andrew (Julie), Noah Nathaniel, Tabitha Abigail, Anna Elizabeth Walker, Jordan Elizabeth Joanna Abigail and Nathan Philip Clark, sister Doris P. Shilliday and brother Donald B. Moore and two nieces and two nephews. She graduated from Lexington High School and Fisher Junior College. Throughout her life she was deeply involved in church and civic activities. She was a charter member of The Community Church at Tellico Village. She was past President of Tellico Village Womens Club, Treasurer of Tellico Village Gardening Club, as well as a past president and VP of the Michigan Garden Club. Throughout her life she was involved in her childrens activities as booster and supporter of band, sports, church youth group and fraternal organizations. This continued in retirement being active in community concerts and numerous functions at The Community Church at Tellico Village. She had a passion for gardening, needlework, quilting, swimming in the ocean, boating and RV trips with the Tellico Road Runners.
