Brownsville - Jason Garcia 29, of Brownsville, Texas devoted son, father, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2016. He was born in Kingsville, Texas on September 5, 1987. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Venevanda Garcia Castro; parents: Tito Garcia and Mary Lopez Garcia, children: Dorian Alexandre and Dylan Antony Garcia; siblings: Steven Garcia of McAllen, Belinda and Bianca Garcia of Rio Grande, Rebecca Longoria Zapata and Erica Garcia. He was employed at Donna ISD as a varsity football coach and as Head Girls Powerlifting Coach. He was previously employed by Mission CISD as a varsity football and track coach, and Brownsville ISD (Pace & Porter) as a Varsity Football and Powerlifting Coach. Jason was also co-owner with Mathew Wolfe of Digital Glory Films where he created and produced sports documentary films around the valley. He graduated with a degree of Kinesiology from Texas A&M Kingsville in 2010 on a football scholarship. He was also a member of the Javelina Football Team from 2006-2010. In 2009, they won the Lone Star Conference Championship. Jason was a proud graduate of Rivera High School in 2006. He had a huge heart along with a smile that touched many lives. He loved to help and give to others. Jason will be remembered for his passion for football, his strong will, charisma, his love for his family, friends, and especially for his two boys. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. (956) 350-8485 Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Tony "Tiger" Padilla, Matt Wolfe, Roger Reyna, Venus Martinez, Raymond Cleboski, Kevin Cantu, Vale Montemayor, Johnny Figueroa, Leo Zamarripa, Tom Abete, Steven Garcia, Chris Hite, Joey Garcia, Willie Esparza, Richard Perez, and Aaron Jackson.
