Jarvis J. Van Klompenberg, age 77, passed into the presence of his Heavenly Father, Oct. 17, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Zeeland and attended Zeeland Christian School. Jarvis was a member of South Olive Christian Reformed Church and former member of Pine Creek CRC. He worked 33 years at Hart & Cooley. After retirement, he spent his winters in Sun City, AZ where he attended West Valley Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed traveling and taking in the beauty of God's creation. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing with his wife Judy. He took pleasure in volunteering for CRWRC (now World Renew) and several other organizations. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Judith (Bouwman); and his sons, Jeffery (Carrie) Van Klompenberg, and grandson Nathan, and James (Lori) Van Klompenberg of Allegan, and granddaughters, Lea, Shea and Carlie, all of whom he loved and cared for deeply. He is also survived by his brothers, Alvin (Judy), Sidney, Larry, Earl (Carrie), Roger (Mary) and Calvin (Barb) Van Klompenberg; and sisters, Eleanor (Bill Toms of Conway, SC and Joyce (Earl) Rotman; In-laws, Emily Bouwman, Greta Aalderink, Lloyd and Rose Bouwman, of Grandville, Marlene Ramirez, Terry and Darlene Bouwman, Patty and Michael VanBragt of Allegan, and Kathy and Jeff Youngberg of Sun City, AZ; Aunts, Betty Essink and Ann Essink; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 West 16th St., Holland, MI. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at South Olive Christian Reformed Church, 6425 N. 120th Ave., Holland, MI, with Pastors Todd Krygsheld and Doug Fauble officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Holland Christian Student Grand Fund or South Olive Bible Camp. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Holland staff for their kind and tender care of Jarvis in the last weeks of his life.
