Janice Sue Grim
Janice Sue Grim, 75, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:18 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at her home. Born July 18, 1941 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Edger J. and Vera (Hockemeyer) Bauermeister. Janice graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School with the Class of 1959. On June 24, 1961, she married Lloyd W. Grim and then moved to Whitley County. She was currently working at Dollar Tree, and had worked in the past for Columbia City Collection Agency from 2003 to 2014, Richards Restaurant in Columbia City for 10 years and Hile and Parnell dentist office for 21 years. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Moose Senior Region, Relay for Life and a ladies bowling league in Columbia City. Survivors include her daughter, Janene (Derek) Eggers, of Wolcottville; sons, Steven (Sherri) Grim and Michael Grim, both of Columbia City; sister, Connie (Lee) Garber, of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a great-grandson. A Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus will be officiating.
